Our Story

Bangalore Culinary Academy was founded by Dr. Chef Sheraz Nair and Dr. Chef Rajesh Nair with a vision to offer advanced international culinary and hospitality education in India at the most affordable cost. True to its name, the Academy focuses on higher learning, shaping students into industry-ready professionals who graduate with international diplomas in culinary arts and pastry.

With over five decades of combined experience in the hospitality and corporate sectors, both Rajesh and Sheraz began their careers in leading hotel chains after completing their degrees in Hotel Management in 1997. Their journey across the hospitality and corporate worlds eventually inspired the creation of an academy that blends real-world expertise with structured education. What began as a small culinary institute has today evolved into a full-fledged centre for professional chef courses, with internationally certified pastry and culinary art diplomas.

At Bangalore Culinary Academy, theory meets practice through a curriculum that is largely hands-on and industry-focused. The curriculum is designed to simulate real-world kitchen and hotel environments, ensuring that students are prepared for the fast-paced, high-pressure world of hospitality. Each batch is kept small, typically around 16 students, allowing for personalised mentoring and hands-on learning. Students graduate with the skills, confidence, and professional conduct required to excel from their very first day in the industry.

Plating up to Bengalurus expectations – Bangalore Mirror

The Bangalore Culinary Academy, set to come up in Hebbal in July, looks to meet the growing demand for kitchen-ready chefs.

Spend five minutes on any lifestyle channel on TV and you’ll understand where the food industry stands today. The cosmopolitan culture of Bengaluru, especially, has raised the culinary bar, what with new restaurants and food start-ups popping up every day. But the industry is also facing a severe skills shortage in the kitchen, with few chefs really equipped to meet the high standards of the market.

This place is really amazing. On the verge of completing my course. Consider this place as my second family. Chefs are really loving and caring towards all. All the sessions have been so fun and interactive. Chefs are highly experienced and knowledgeable, and also impart the right techniques at work. The Admin team and the founders are really friendly and helpful at all times. Would highly recommend students to join BCA who are interested in learning pastry arts or culinary arts. We were encouraged to have jokes during the end of our class. Our chefs are very jovial with us. Going to miss all the fun after my course. I sincerely thank Bca with my gratitude for all the support and motivation because of which I could enhance my skills to a higher degree.

I’m from Nagaland and always dreamed of starting a food business because of my love for cooking, but I knew I needed professional skills. Discovering Bangalore Culinary Academy on Instagram was life-changing. Their dual course, Diploma de Gastronomie, offered incredible value, so I joined—and it’s been the best decision of my life. I started as a nervous baker, barely knowing how to hold a piping bag, but six months later, I’m confident to start my own bakery. The chefs’ focus on authenticity and techniques inspired me, and their approachable nature made learning enjoyable. BCA transformed my passion into reality—thank you!

I’ve always been passionate about being a chef ever since I made my first dish in grade 8. Since then I’ve been in a pursuit of gaining technical knowledge and experience in this field. So after finishing my BHM degree, I wanted to Specialise in the food production department. Bangalore has always fascinated me as a city and as a place for growth. Hence after a little research of my own and through word of mouth, I got to know about Bangalore Culinary Academy. Joining the academy was the best decision for me. I was provided with immense support from the faculty, and along with the latest infrastructure provided at the academy, I was able to enhance my skills as a chef. The 7 months I have spent here have changed my outlook about the hotel industry. It’s perks and it’s cons etc. After graduating from the academy, entering the hotel field as a chef will be an advantage for me”

I was born and brought up in Kuwait. I found out about BCA from social media. I actually wanted to get involved with culinary when I was younger, so when I found out about this opportunity, I took it. The course that I took was PG, Advanced culinary arts. It was a life changer, as I developed new knowledge and skills. It is a total different experience when working in a kitchen with my colleagues. Poisson Meuniere was the best dish I’ve ever made. I made a quite a lot of friends, the best memories from the class was when we were asked to break down different types of meats and fishes in different ways. I want to own a business of my own and thanks BCA for giving me the courage and confidence to achieve the same.

I did my level 3 diploma in patisserie at BCA in 2020 and it was a great experience! They provide professional & hands on training. They teach all kinds of skills & techniques that are needed to shine in the pastry industry. The recipes they provide are flawless and are priceless assets that will be helpful forever. The house keeping staffs are very thorough and so the place is always spick and span and safe. The security is always present and its a very safe environment to be in. BCA is a fantastic place to go if you want to begin a career in the pastry or culinary field! I am now successfully running an online pastry shop in Salem, The Split Bean.
